Nixen
Selfies in a pink bikini, the demonic, metamorphosis and the pure pleasure of being in the water.
'Die Nixe' in German means water nymph, and 'nixen' is a verb I created for her, but it can also mean ‘doing nothing’. In Polish, I call this series 'Rusałking', from the Slavic water nymph, the 'rusałka'.

Beyond the imagined, beyond the image, lies a raw somatic experience. Simple, yet not ordinary. Water, as common as it is, is utterly magical in its power of transformation and creation. The water world, while swaying in the sensual delicacy of dreamy poetics, can turn in the blink of an eye into the wild gaze of the abyss — a void of weightlessness and a horror of breathlessness crawling out of insecurity. Or a gaze into the unknown, full of alien yet enchanting creatures living a free-flowing life in an abundance of the substance.
